Juneteenth

Celebrate Black history, Black culture, and raise funds for Be Inclusive! Juneteenth - also known as Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Freedom Day - is a day to celebrate the emancipation of the last enslaved people in the United States. For the last four years, Be Inclusive has hosted a celebration on this historically significant day to celebrate Black people, history and culture, attracting hundreds of visitors. This family-friendly event will feature local Black leaders, Black-owned businesses, exhilarating performances, music, food, vendors, and a children's area for the youngest celebrants. We will also have some special guests from the New England Revolution, one of our platinum-level sponsors! Come on out and celebrate with us!

This year’s theme is “Lift Every Voice,” in recognition of the work each generation of Black Americans has done to lift their voices, and the voices of those within their community, to speak out against injustice. Together, we celebrate the central message of “Lift Every Voice”: that through amplifying the voices of the unheard, we can work toward a more just world, with equal rights and access for all.

The event is free, and we strongly encourage attendees to register at this link.

Diwali Celebration

Join Be Inclusive as we celebrate the festival of lights, one of India’s biggest holidays! We’re hosting an afternoon of free food, children’s activities, and sharing information about the holiday, with performances from 4:00-4:45pm.

Location: Blackburn Hall, 30 Stone Street, Walpole, MA (Walpole Recreation Building).

Diwali - also known as Deepavali which means a row of lighted lamps - is one of India’s biggest festivals. Indians light lamps outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. Be Inclusive invites all to gather in celebration of the story of Diwali; the victory of good over evil.

This event is an opportunity to educate the community about Diwali’s rich history and to come together to enjoy exhilarating performances from singers, dancers, and artists. The annual event is a platform to highlight this beautiful piece of Indian culture as well as Indian leaders and businesses within our very own community.

Kids’ activities and traditional Indian food will be a part of the festive, family-friendly celebration. Funds raised at the event will be reinvested in Be Inclusive to fund future events and initiatives.
